Chat to someone Online
Sometimes it just helps to talk to a stranger. Luckily, online, there are many places to talk anonymously. Here are a few:
7CupsofTea - while not equipt to deal with those who are actively suicidal, Listeners on 7Cups are available to talk about self-harm triggers, struggles in recovery, and other parts of life. Your conversation can be as intense as a discussion about being triggered right now or currently having a panic attack, or as laid back as a chat about loneliness and depression. You can select specific listeners by searching Browse Listeners, or make a general request that will be picked up by the first person available.
BlahTherapy - offers a similar situation where you can vent to strangers online anonymously (free), but you also have the option of chatting with a therapist (costs money). Again, they aren't equipt to help you if you're actively suicidal, but other wise you're more than okay chatting about anything else.
Boystown - the crisis hotline also has an online chat option.
The Trevor Project - a crisis line for LGBTQ+ folk that also has an online chat option.
http://www.suicidepreventionlifeline.org/GetHelp/LifelineChat.aspx - Another crisis hotline available through online chat. Available from 2pm-2am EST.
https://www.imalive.org/ - an online crisis chat site with volunteers who have taken crisis training programs. They seem to be very busy often though, and may be offline if all their current volunteers are taking the maximum number of chats allowed.
