Online Communities

Online communities of people struggling with self-harm can be really useful, when you find a community that is careful of triggers and working more or less towards recovery.  While not everyone is ready to recover, a healthy and supportive community honors that many of its members are trying hard to learn healthier coping skills and reduce/stop harming.  In these places, rules are made and enforced to reduce and eliminate triggering images, descriptions, and discussions.  Supportive communities can be great places to learn and discuss coping skills, challenges, and begin to feel less alone and isolated.
